Focus view and Timer

Find calm and focus with one activity at a time 🎯 The focus view makes it easier to stay 🚥 with what you are doing right now. Here you will also find the much-requested timer ⏲️ function!

When your brain has difficulty choosing, starting, or completing a task, it can help to reduce impressions and choices.

The Focus view shows only what you need right now—with clear timing, support buttons, and encouragement when you're done.

One activity at a time—without being distracted by the rest of your schedule.


1. Timer

The timer is an excellent tool for focusing on a task for a specific amount of time and can be particularly useful for managing time and energy efficiently.

Once you click on Focus View, you can also use the Timer feature.

You can set the timer for specific activities in your daily schedule and receive a reminder when the time is up.

Benefits:

  • Reduces overwhelming impressions

  • Provides a visual countdown of time remaining

  • Includes support and notes directly in the view

  • Shows only one activity at a time

When to use the Focus view:

  • When it's difficult to get started

  • When you feel stressed or distracted

  • When you want a calm, clear focus


2. How to use the Focus view

⚡️ Quick start - Step by step:

1. Open the daily schedule

  • Find the activity you want to work on, or create a new one.

💡 Note:
The Focus view and timer are also available in Master List and Projects.

To keep things simple, you can't see it in Private, but just Organize, Plan and Prioritize your activity and move it to use the feature!

2. Click “Focus view”

  • Available for each activity. This opens the focus view for that particular activity.

3. Information in the Focus view

Here you see a focus view with a started timer.

  • Activity name

  • Start and end time

  • How much time remains (shown in minutes)

  • When the time is up, “0 min left” is displayed

  • If there are more activities, they are displayed with their start times.

  • Skip – Skip the task and go to the next task

  • Mariko Ai – Ask for support!

4. Time and colors

The time for the activity you are working on and the next activity can be displayed in three different colors, in addition to the standard black or gray colors for text in Mariko.

Green - Active:

This is displayed when the activity has started and the timer is running.

Orange - Conflict:

When you change a timer so that the end time overlaps with the start time of the next activity.

Red - Overdue:

When the next activity should have been marked as complete or skipped.

5. All done?

An encouraging screen appears:

“All done ✅ You're a rock star! 💜 🥳 🤩”

Now you can safely close the window and return to Mariko's other views.
