Planning an activity in Mariko
The second step for your activity, before it is ready to be carried out!

Planning an activity in Mariko helps you answer when, how long and how often an activity should be performed. For example, you can add reminders and energy levels to customize the planning according to your needs.

Step-by-step instructions

1. Open the activity

  1. Go to your daily schedule or master list and select an activity.

  1. Press “Schedule when and how often”


2. Select the date and time

  1. Date: Tap “Date” and select a date from the calendar or use the shortcuts:

    “Today”, “Tomorrow”, “This weekend”, or “Next week”.

  1. Start time: Tap “Start time”, select a time and confirm.

  1. End time (optional): Press “End time”, select a time or a duration (15, 30, 45 or 60 minutes).

  1. Duration: Select one of the preset times or adjust manually.

    Note that if there is an End Time, it is adjusted together with the Duration.


3. set reminders

  1. Tap on “Reminders”.

  1. Select when you want to be reminded:

    • At start time

    • 10 minutes before

    • 1 day before

  1. Set your own time by selecting “Customize” or click on an added reminder.

  1. The reminder will appear during the minute you specified, Mariko uses your phone’s settings for sounds and notifications. You can get: Notifications, system sound and instant message in the Mariko app.


4. set up repetition

  1. Tap on “Repeat activity”.

  1. Choose one of the options:

    • Never (default)

    • Every day (default)

    • Every week (default)

    • Every two weeks

    • Every month

    • Every year

  1. You can specify settings for the repetition:

    • Repeat forever (Default)

    • End repeat on a specified end date

    • End repeat after X number of days

    • Repeat when activity is marked as Done

    • Skip weekends

  1. For additional settings, tap “Custom” and adjust the Type of repetition and Interval

    • Daily: Enter the number of days between each repetition. For example, if you want to create an activity to take place every other day, enter the number 2.

    • Weekly: Enter the number of weeks between each repetition and then mark the days of the week when the activity will take place. For example, you can create an activity to take place on Monday, Wednesday and Friday every three weeks.

    • Monthly: Enter the number of months between each repetition.

      If you want the activity to take place on the same day of the month each time it repeats (e.g. the fourth and nineteenth day of each month that the activity occurs), select “Each” and then click on the days of the month that you want the activity to take place.

      You can also set the activity to repeat according to a pattern (e.g. the last day of the week of each month that the activity should take place).

      To set a pattern, select “of the month…” and then select options.

    • Every year: Enter the number of years between each repetition and then click on the months where you want the activity to take place.

      You can also set the activity to take place according to a pattern (e.g. the third Thursday of each month that the activity should take place).

      If you want to set a pattern, check “Every” and then select options.


5. set the energy level

  1. Tap on “Energy”.

  1. Select an energy level:

    • +5 (High energy)

    • 0 (Neutral activity)

    • 5 (Takes a lot of energy)

📌 Tip: Default is not to use energy display, reset by selecting “Energy not used”.


6. save and close

  • When you are happy with the settings, press “Save & Close”.

    You will now see the activity in your daily schedule.

→ There are many settings in your phone that can affect this. Check if any of them are blocking Mariko.
